Biography
J-Butter is a talented producer, composer and songwriter, born and raised in New Orleans, La. to a father that is a local pianist He attended Mc Donogh 15, the same creative arts elementary school as local prodigy and international artist Trombone Shorty where was trained in and exposed to the arts at an early age. At the age of 16 his first venture into music came in the form of DJing for local parties around the city and various events which then evolved into remixes and eventually production and songwriting for upcoming artists. At 17 he was then thrust into to the local scene via working with artists Snipe and Gar from also local artist B.G.’s at the time’s newly established label, chopper city records. He has since then worked with local artists such as Ms Tee, LOG, Skip of juvenile’s UTP label, Partners in Crime, Sturgis and many more as well as many artists in the S.F. Bay area Hyphy scene. His influences stem from genres such as Drum and Bass, House/Trance, Samba, Jazz and Classical genres, and these influences are audibly apparent in his music.
